Dear Folks,

Thanks for $ - fine amt + interest charge is too little in my opinion. BI wife Judy Hod called to say older lady she knows is moving to Canada + has car to sell for £850 (~ $1700). Hoyle, shall I put the rest in Irish Bank for 12% interest? (Just teasing, bunt I really could you know!)

Hope you both are getting some rest now that responsibilities to Granny Vel are over. Am delighted Bonnie can help you out. Hope you'll keep that up! Tell Bonnie I have pair of shoes for her (am extremely glad you could recycle G Vel's things - She would be pleased!)

Did not hear much about Grboro riot - altho <pb n="2" /> there was film footage on t news that I missed.

Have met more Irish neighbors - believe we live in an excellent neighborhood. Really hope you can visit. Know you would appreciate the experience. Remember passports take 6 weeks or more so plan ahead.

Am delighted you can see Cheryl. Know she will appreciate your visit very much. We will think of you Thurs. 34 Americans are getting together th p.m. for turkey dinner at Andy Hobson's house. Of course, the Irish don't celebrate Thanksgiving.

Am going to be fat before long. Eat too many deserts etc. Walking + cold take more calories but not as many as I consume.

Have already been making my shopping list of things to get in spring - odd grocery items, clothes, toiletries, patent [=over the counter] medicines.

BI provided us w/ an electric blanket which is great. Am hooked. Want to get one ASAP upon return to states.

Don't worry about Xmas gifts. I decided to order your gifts from Sears - too late to mail Irish mail svc by Xmas. Hope to know shops etter (also have car then) + buy Irish gifts to bring in spring. 2 Christmases this yr!
