I got the car last Friday + am very pleased with it - a '77 Fiat in aparently good condition. Manages well + I'm comfortable driving it. I can park in the BI apt lot just before the bridge into downtown + walk over when I go downtown to shop. That will prevent having to drive in lots of downtown traffic. Also there's a nice shopping mall about 10 mi out the Ennis Rd toward the airport - a nice, uncongested drive.

I sympathize w/ your efforts to diet this time of yr - I'm hopeing to slim down again - started at 138 last wk - weighed 131 today. Got stomach virus now and haven't eaten much. That wasn't exactly how I planned to do it. May have to put Jon on a diet - has a very round little tummy these days. Loves his peanut butter + jelly, corn flakes, french fries, cheese and that whole milk!

Phillip is enjoying school a lot these days. Likes playing out in the neighborhood w/ the many boys.

A set of neighbors is hosting a little party this evening so we can meet some folks. I look forward to that. We were planning to go to Dublin this Sat but decided against that - this Sat is a big holiday (religious) + official sendoff for Xmas shopping, so Dublin should be very crowded. Also learned we can purchase cabinets like[s] ones here in Cork so will go there Sat (for less $ than custom ones at kitchen centers) (Thanks for your efforts w/ Sears - appreciate your decision.)

I'm tired of house-doing - made 4 prs of curtains + sorted everything. Finally got family photoshung in upstairs hall. Jon enjoys seeing your pictures. (By the way, he is very attached to the Teddy Bear you gave him. Loves to hear it play + carries it around w/him!)

I asked Phyllis to place a Sears order for your Xmas gifts. Please accept it when it comes. I will itemize contents + recipients in later letter.
