Dear Folks,

Xmas packages arrived yesterday + we had great fun opening them. Ph + J love the flashlights - Jon thinks they are funs + he's delighted! Of course, graham crackers are always a big hit. The gloves are lovely - thanks. Edw was pleased w/ his new shirt - Cheryl sent him one so he has a nice supply to tide him over until another shipping trip in America.

It's snowing hard tonight - will make an effort to get some photos this time + send them to you. Has been very cold - more like we are used to.

Had a letter from Pam + understand I have joined the ranks of a Davidson Co. land owner! Do I have to file taxes anytime soon?

We have had lots of social events to go to - 2 parties for nyear's + 2 dinner parties. The late nights are getting to me a bit. My chest seems clear now. Jonathan had his ears rechecked on Mon + Dr. O'C thought they were so much better that he'd not do the adenoid survery now. I was delighted.

Ph returned to sch. today + Jon. returns to playsch on Mon. The Xmas holiday period is much more leisurely here for everyone than in America. Really a nice break for everyone.

Went to the sales and surprised myself - Bought 2 black dresses at one time - a nice Danish knit 2 piece + a nice cocktail dress. Am waiting for a good chance to wear the cocktail dress. Mary MAloney bought a <emph rend="underline">mink</emph> jacket yesterday! Has been wishing for one for a long time. Am looking forward to seeing it.

Mr. Wright the new gen. mgr. now subscribes to the Greensboro Daily News. So we get more N.C. news than before. Sounds as if he's got a lot more on the ball than his predecessor - thank God. Can't really think of any news - got a photo of Norma's baby - he's lovely. Have you seen him yet?
